&pageText=After the initial risk level is determined for a hazard, the next step is to develop controls and eliminate or reduce the probability or severity of each hazard by lowering that risk. To be effective, each control developed must meet the following criteria:& &bulletText1=Suitability -- It must remove the hazard or mitigate (reduce) the residual risk to an acceptable level.& &bulletText2=Feasibility -- The unit must have the capability to implement the control.& &bulletText3=Acceptability -- The benefit gained by implementing the control must justify the cost in resources and time. The assessment of acceptability is largely subjective.&
